About the role
As an Economist, you will play a central role in the organization, working closely with managers, project leaders, and other key personnel. You will be responsible for qualified financial work and contribute with analysis, follow-up, and advisory services that create the prerequisites for well-founded decisions.
You will work with the entire financial process and be an important partner in matters concerning budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will among other things:
- Act as an advisor to managers and project leaders on financial matters
- Ensure good accounting in accordance with internal and external regulations
- Work with budgeting, forecasting, follow-up, and financial analysis
- Be responsible for financial project reporting to funders
- Participate in budgeting and year-end closing processes
- Interpret terms from funders and other contractual parties
- Contribute to the development and quality assurance of financial processes and routines
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a structured and analytical approach to work and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces. You have the ability to translate financial analyses into concrete recommendations and communicate financial matters in a pedagogical and clear manner.
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
- An academic degree in economics, a higher vocational education (YH), or equivalent relevant education
- Experience in qualified financial work
- Good knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and year-end closing
- Experience with financial and administrative support systems
- Strong analytical skills
- High integrity in your professional role
- Good collaboration skills and a service-oriented attitude
- Very good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English
- Ability to structure, prioritize, and drive your work independently
It is a plus if you have experience with:
- Responsibility for entire financial processes
- Project accounting
- Qualified financial work within higher education or universities
- EU-funded projects and associated accounting
- Support systems such as Raindance and Hypergene
About the employment
This is a consultancy assignment starting on August 17, 2026. You will be employed as a consultant and work on-site at our partner's location in Gothenburg.
- Scope: Full-time, office hours
- Start: August
- Location: Central Gothenburg
- Salary: Fixed monthly salary
