At Malmö Borgarskola, we are looking for a subject teacher in Mathematics and Physics to teach within the IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) as well as national programs. Work with us and help shape the future of Malmö and society!

Job Description

As a teacher, you work to ensure that students develop their full potential – both academically and socially. You support, motivate, and stimulate each student to meet the knowledge requirements based on their prerequisites. Your duties include planning, teaching, and assessment, as well as evaluating and developing the pedagogical activities in accordance with the school's guiding documents.

We are a learning organization that promotes knowledge exchange, where you find yourself in an environment characterized by collegial learning and development. Together with colleagues, you work to create a good learning and working environment for both students and staff. You also contribute to the quality and development work at the school.

The main tasks included in the position are teaching in the following subjects:

• International Baccalaureate Math. AA HL/SL
• Mathematics 1-5 + Mathematics specialization
• Physics 1 and 2
• Mentorship

Since the position involves teaching on both IBDP and national programs, instruction will be conducted in both Swedish and English.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Teaching certification
• Eligibility to teach Mathematics and Physics at the upper secondary level
• Experience teaching Mathematics and/or Physics at the upper secondary level
• Experience teaching in English
• Good understanding of the school's goals and guiding documents
• Proficiency in using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
• Very good knowledge of English and Swedish, both spoken and written

The following are considered meritorious:

• Eligibility to teach other subjects
• Experience with IB workshops in Mathematics and/or Physics
• Experience teaching Mathematics and/or Physics within the IB framework

You adapt the teaching to the students' and group's prerequisites and prior knowledge through a creative approach and strong pedagogical skills. Your work style is marked by good structure, and you prioritize and organize tasks efficiently. Furthermore, you contribute to good collaborations and communicate openly, clearly, and listen attentively to your surroundings. You also understand how students' backgrounds, culture, and group affiliation affect learning, and you create an inclusive learning environment where all students have the opportunity to succeed.

Malmö Borgarskola is a meeting place with an stimulating study environment for young people from all over Scania. Today, we have approximately 140 employees and around 1,370 students. Malmö Borgarskola offers the Economics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Hotel and Tourism programs, as well as the International Baccalaureate. We have well-educated and engaged teachers with a focus on knowledge development in daily teaching, where the individual student is seen and allowed to develop as far as possible.
