Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a new member to join our practical and aesthetic education team. You will teach wood and metal crafts in grades 3–9. Mentorship duties are included for a grade 9 class. You will be part of a subject group consisting of various practical and aesthetic teachers, and you will belong to a work team with teachers having different subject combinations who teach grades 7–9. We place great emphasis on joint planning and joint assessment among colleagues. Here, we value building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, which requires you to have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher with eligibility to teach wood and metal crafts in grades 3–9. We prefer that you have experience teaching wood and metal crafts in grades 3–9. We also prefer that you have another practical aesthetic or theoretical minor subject. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's steering documents and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills, allowing you to lead and organize your work to create a peaceful study environment and a good learning atmosphere for our students throughout their school day.

Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and practice, you work efficiently with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work towards building good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

About the Workplace

Klagshamnsskolan has approximately 740 students and nearly 90 staff members. The leadership group consists of the principal, deputy principals, and an administrative manager. This enables close pedagogical leadership, contributing to close contact with your direct manager where you receive the support you need to carry out your pedagogical mission in the best possible way.

We are an F–9 school (preschool class to grade 9), which we see as a privilege and a great advantage to be able to follow our students from preschool class until they graduate from grade 9. To strengthen the feeling of being an F–9 school, we create many opportunities for staff to meet across stage boundaries. This is done, among other things, every week when we have joint pedagogical development time.

Teaching and after-school activities at Klagshamnsskolan are based on scientific grounds. To create quality and equity, we allocate joint time for planning and assessment within the work team. We also have regular collegial learning meetings where all staff together deepen their understanding of our commitments and areas for improvement.
