Your working day as a University Lecturer

The position involves teaching as well as the development and planning of courses. All teaching is online. Participation in subject development and the general development of the operations are included in the duties.

Are you the person we are looking for?

To be eligible for appointment as a University Lecturer, you must:

• have demonstrated pedagogical skill
• have completed a Master's degree or an equivalent academic professional qualification, or possess other professional competence that is significant in view of the subject content of the appointment and the duties involved.

For this position, you must also:

• hold an academic degree in Arabic
• have documented experience of teaching at the university level
• fluent in English
• be proficient in Modern Standard Arabic in both speech and writing
• be knowledgeable about modern Arabic literature and contemporary cultural trends

It is an advantage if you:

• have experience of course development
• have experience of online teaching at an academic level
• have experience of teaching Arabic
• have a doctoral education in Arabic
• have the ability to communicate in Swedish, as this is required to perform duties within teaching, administration, and collaboration

The university's language departments collaborate closely with each other, which means that good teamwork skills, initiative, and a high degree of responsibility are required to succeed in the role.

The appointment

The appointment is a fixed-term position, 75-100% full-time, period 2026-08-15 to 2027-08-15. Possibility of extension may exist.

Dalarna University is a higher education institution operating in two locations. The place of work for this appointment is Falun, and some work will also take place in Borlänge.
