Do you want to make a societal contribution and support Sweden's independence globally? FRA is now looking for a lawyer for one of the agency's legal units. Your assignment

As a lawyer, you will belong to one of the agency's two legal units located at the Chief Legal Officer's office. The Chief Legal Officer reports directly to the Director General and has overall responsibility for ensuring the agency's operations are conducted in accordance with laws and regulations. The Chief Legal Officer also ensures the agency has an appropriate regulatory framework and is responsible for the legal support provided to the agency. This role is supported by the Deputy Chief Legal Officer and the legal units, where the agency's lawyers are placed. One of the legal units supports the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The second legal unit, where you will be placed, supports FRA's other operations. As a lawyer in this unit, your main task is to provide legal support within the agency's administrative law area. This support includes conducting legal investigations, handling referrals and disclosure cases, and drafting and quality-assuring proposals for decisions, internal regulations, agreements, and contracts. You will also conduct internal training. In your daily work, you will have many contacts both internally within the agency and externally with the Government Offices and other authorities.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have a Master of Laws degree or a Juris Candidate degree. You have current experience of qualified legal work within the administrative law area at a state authority, court, or equivalent. The role requires that you have good knowledge of the regulations concerning public documents, transparency and secrecy, personal data processing, and administrative law. You also have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and good knowledge of English.

It is meritorious if you have completed judicial internship (notariatjänstgöring). It is also meritorious if you have experience from the defense or security sector.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You have a solution-oriented approach and a very good analytical ability. You are accustomed to breaking down complex issues and problems. The position involves working both independently and in close collaboration with other lawyers and colleagues in other professional categories. It is important that you have good teamwork skills, a very good judgment, and high integrity. During periods, the work is carried out under time pressure, which places demands on your ability to work quickly without compromising legal quality. The focus can change with short notice, which places demands on flexibility. As a person, you are stable and find it easy to create, maintain, and develop relationships.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approx. 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. A requirement for employment is a approved security investigation with register check. Before employment, you will be security vetted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
