Job Description

As a drama teacher, you will teach on the Arts Programme with a focus on theatre and the Specialized Theatre Education. Our education utilizes period-based learning, meaning students study theatre intensively for approximately 6 weeks per period. This allows for in-depth studies, longer projects, and performances, resembling work in a professional theatre to some extent. Your tasks may include creating appropriate teaching materials, instructing in various acting techniques, stage presence, character work, voice, movement, as well as directing and producing performances. You will be part of a team working alongside other drama teachers.

In your professional role, you are expected to inspire students throughout their education and share your expert knowledge and professional skills. The teaching role also involves planning, teaching, assessing, and finally evaluating instruction based on the school's governing documents to develop and adapt it to the student group. You are part of and contribute to the school's development work, working to ensure the learning environment is developed and promotes students' achievement of goals.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Teaching certification
• Qualification to teach drama subjects at the upper secondary level
• Professional experience within the theatre industry
• Very good subject knowledge in drama/theatre
• Very good subject knowledge and experience in acting and theatre, as well as good repertoire knowledge
• Experience using digital tools for communication and pedagogy
• Good understanding of the school's goals and governing documents
• Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
