Your Responsibilities

In your role at the leisure center (fritidshem), your task, according to the curriculum, is to stimulate students' development and learning while offering them a meaningful leisure time. Together with the work team, you plan, implement, and document the pedagogical work.

As a childcare worker with us, you have knowledge of the leisure center's curriculum and other regulatory documents. You follow the norms and values stated in the curriculum and contribute to carrying out the organization's mission. The activity is based on the students' needs, interests, and experiences, while continuously challenging and inspiring them to new discoveries. In your teaching, you offer a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments that integrate care and learning. In your role, you are expected to work with both the entire student group and individual students, which also includes ongoing dialogue with guardians regarding the students' well-being and development.

The organization currently needs support from a resource person who is a secure support throughout the students' entire school day – both pedagogically, practically, and socially. Through a close and good relationship, you create the security required for learning and development in school contexts and daily life. Work with us is strongly characterized by structure, predictability, and clarifying pedagogy, while the role requires great flexibility in interactions. We are looking for you who act with natural calm and find creative solutions to everyday challenges. Since alternative communication is a central part of daily life, you communicate primarily through oral explanations and Sign Support (TAKK). The role also involves practical and attentive support during movement and transfers in the school's different environments.

This is a fixed-term position from 2026-08-03 to 2027-03-12.

The position is located at Sätra School in Bestorp – the small school with the big community. Here, approximately 88 students from preschool class to grade 6 study in a calm and secure environment. The school is beautifully located in nature with its own school forest, wind shelter, and barbecue area, making outdoor pedagogy and outdoor life a natural part of the students' daily lives. At Sätra School, we value student influence highly, especially within the leisure center where students are co-creators in the activity. With only a 5–10 minute walk from Bestorp center, the school is easily accessible via safe bike paths.

Brokind School (approx. 125 students, grades F–6) is beautifully situated in modern facilities and also houses a preschool and sports hall. Our schools have close cooperation where we use methods that complement each other and contribute to high goal fulfillment.

You Who Apply

It is a requirement that you have completed education as a childcare worker (barnskötare) from adult education or have attended the Child and Youth Program at upper secondary school. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children in curriculum-regulated activities as an employee, through internship, or voluntarily. It is meritorious if you have documented knowledge or experience of TAKK (Sign Support). It is also meritorious if you have experience working with students in need of special support, with specific emphasis on low cognitive ability.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communicative skills in speech and writing in Swedish. This is because, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you must organize and carry out work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that every child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

Since the school is located in an area with limited public transport, we require that you have a driver's license and access to a car.

In your role as a childcare worker, you build good relationships and collaborate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts relevant to your professional role. You have a good understanding of human differences and relate to them in a listening manner in teaching and school daily life. You lead the work with children through motivation, engagement, and participation. The role also involves working with current goals and quality standards for the school together with your colleagues.
