The Work and Integration Unit is part of the Individual and Family Care within the Care and Social Services Department. The unit's main mission is to help people who are furthest from the labor market into education, work, and the correct public support, with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency. The unit currently has four internal operations, including a first-step activity and a cafeteria, which enable work training and internships before the individual is ready for a placement at a regular workplace within the municipality. Within the unit, occupational therapists, labor market case officers, labor market coordinators, labor market investigators, supervisors, mentors, coordinators, and administrators work. We are now looking for development-oriented mentors with the passion to motivate and support our participants towards self-sufficiency.

WORK TASKS

As a mentor within the Work and Integration labor market initiatives, you provide adapted mentoring, support, and assistance to participants who are testing their prerequisites to move forward towards work or studies.

Together with supervisors and other mentors, you lead and support participants in their daily practical work. You maintain contact with the referring authority, such as the municipal labor market unit, authorities like the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Public Employment Service, or Region Östergötland. You are involved in following up on participants together with the referring case officer. You assess how the initiatives work for participants and provide suggestions on how future planning regarding rehabilitation can look.

As a mentor, you participate in planning and developing the operations. Some administrative tasks are also included in the role. The operation has close cooperation with business life, association life, as well as departments within the municipality, and offers a variety of tasks within recycling, kitchen, café, sewing, property maintenance, gardening, inventory, and digitalization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a post-secondary education with a focus on social work, treatment, rehabilitation, or pedagogy. It is meritorious if you have experience from work within support and treatment or pedagogical activities, as well as with people who are far from the labor market due to physical and/or mental illness.

The job requires that you have a B driver's license, good computer skills, and can communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

You are sensitive and responsible and have the ability to motivate and strengthen people in your surroundings. You are pedagogical, clear, and can instruct and mentor, possessing patience and endurance. Since the job requires many contacts, you are relationship-building and actively work to maintain good relationships and create trust.
