Gylle School is the largest primary school in Dalarna, a F–9 unit with approximately 900 students. The school is located just south of Borlänge city center with good transport links and a broad catchment area that creates diversity and rich opportunities for learning.

Since April 2025, Gylle School F–6 has had fully completed, new, modern, and well-equipped learning environments – including a sports hall and cafeteria – designed to support varied and future-oriented teaching. Together with our dedicated and qualified staff, organized in strong grade-level teams, these facilities create a recipe for success where professionalism, student focus, and good structures meet.

At the F–6 unit, approximately 80 employees work in various roles, all contributing to a safe and learning environment. We are in an exciting development phase focusing on strengthening students' digital competence while maintaining our profile as a reading school to increase goal achievement in all subjects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are currently looking for teachers for the after-school center (fritidshem) for grades F-6, in one of our teams. During the upcoming school year, we will continue to focus on developing the after-school center. We want you on board who is a creative, driven, and inspiring educator.

We work to capture students' interests and create situations where students can challenge their learning, which contributes to stimulating learning environments. Important elements of the activity are play, learning, movement, creative work, and social development.

The assignment is directed towards the school's and after-school center's activities based on students' needs.

In the role of teacher for the after-school center, you work together with your colleagues at the center with the goal of creating a meaningful after-school time for the students. Together, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting the pedagogical work, thereby contributing to the realization of the after-school center's curriculum goals and intentions in the activity. You are also expected to participate in the school's other quality work.

During the school day, you work in close collaboration with the class mentor and serve as a pedagogical and social support to students. You conduct some lessons in full or half classes, for example, during practical learning and in case of absence. You take significant responsibility for social interaction in hallways, during transitions, and at recess.

Recess activities and daily movement are important parts of students' learning and well-being and should therefore be planned, organized, and followed up as an integrated part of the school's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic requirements for the position:

• Teacher for after-school center / After-school pedagogue.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Personal qualities:

• You are responsible, secure, and create good relationships with both children and adults.
• You have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and adapt your way of communicating based on the situation.
• You have a positive attitude with the starting point that all children are everyone's responsibility.
• You have initiative and the willingness to help drive the development of the school and after-school center forward.
• You have a good understanding of how children acquire knowledge and can flexibly adapt yourself and your plans based on students' needs.
• You have good collaboration skills and work independently when the assignment requires it.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Post-secondary education focused on pedagogical work, for example, childcare or after-school leader education.
• Previous experience in the teaching profession, for example, in preschool, preschool class, primary school, or after-school center.
• Previous experience in outdoor pedagogy as well as further education in pedagogy and creative/aesthetic learning processes such as music, art, drama, dance.
• You are familiar with the steering documents of the after-school center and school and plan activities based on these.
• You have experience with and conduct language-developing work in all activities, both in school and at the after-school center. This involves learning environments that support vocabulary, concept development, and communication in both social and pedagogical contexts.

Salary: Monthly salary.
