Villaskolan is a school covering grades F-6 (preschool to grade 6) with two classes in almost every grade level. The school is nestled among pines in the scenic area of Åhus, and it is easy to reach by both bus and car.

Your role with us

As a student assistant, you work to help and stimulate students in need of special support towards learning, development, and independence, both individually and in groups, using a low-affective approach. The job involves creating a safe environment and framework for the students, focusing on studies and conditions to develop cooperation and relationships in school. The work is carried out on behalf of the responsible teacher based on the current curriculum. You support students throughout the school day, both in the classroom and during breaks and in the after-school center, during meal and hygiene situations, as well as during other activities.

The job requires constant attention, analysis, and understanding of situations inside and outside the classroom. In close collaboration with teachers and other student assistants, you strive to find individual solutions so that every student can benefit from the teaching in the best possible way. Understanding each other's professional roles is of utmost importance. Contact and cooperation with guardians is an important part of the job, as is actively participating in the workplace's development and taking responsibility for your own personal competence development. The work can be physically demanding and psychologically taxing.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have one of the following:

• A high school diploma from the Child and Youth Program with a focus on pedagogical and social work.
• A passing grade from the vocational package Student Assistant within adult education or equivalent education as a student assistant within folk high schools.
• A degree/passing grade from equivalent education that the employer assesses as sufficiently comprehensive within pedagogy and children's development and learning.
• Meets parts of the educational requirements and has at least three years of work experience as a student assistant.

We want you to have a good ability to meet school-age children and good pedagogical skills. Documented experience of working as a student assistant is meritorious, as is experience working with people with functional variations. For one of the positions, experience with tube feeding is meritorious.

It is an advantage if you have an understanding of the role of a student assistant and are sensitive to the student's needs. Knowledge of the curriculum is a merit.

You need to be able to choose appropriate actions within the pedagogical methods and techniques the school uses. We also want you to have the ability to stimulate students in their development, and we would like you to have the ability to inspire and motivate students. You are a balanced and stable person with a professional attitude and can handle arising situations in a patient, secure, and calm manner.

To succeed in your role as a student assistant, it is important that you have empathetic abilities, can collaborate, and take responsibility. Since the work can be physically demanding, good physical fitness is required.

To allow us to assess your application, you must attach proof of degree/grades for your completed education. When we wish to offer you the position, you are required to present an extract from the police record of criminal convictions so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.

We offer four permanent positions and one temporary position (SÄVA) for the school year 26/27, and one temporary position (SÄVA) for the autumn term of '26. The start date for the positions is 2026-08-20.
