Avarn Security has the contract to provide security services to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, which involves staffing with airport controllers, security guards, and watchmen. For many years, we have also provided security services to Malmö Airport (Sturup), Sälen Airport (Scandinavian Mountains Airport), and Oslo Airport Gardermoen.

The work is based at Arlanda Airport, where you work in the security checks as an airport controller. As an airport controller, your main responsibility is to work together with colleagues to ensure that no unauthorized persons pass through the security checkpoint and that all prohibited items are stopped. In this role, it is important that you are attentive, stress-resistant, and have a strong security mindset. We see you as a responsible person with a strong focus on your work. The work is physically demanding, and during a workday, you will be standing and walking for most of the day. There are also some heavy lifts involved.

As a person, you are cheerful and positive, and you enjoy working with people. You want to contribute to ensuring that everyone receives professional treatment, from the frequent business traveler to the family taking their first trip. You manage to combine security and service, thereby creating safety for both travelers and colleagues through your high security awareness.

The employment begins with mandatory training for 3 weeks, consisting of both theoretical and practical parts. Avarn covers the training, and you will receive salary during this period. After completing the training and internship with a passing grade, you will have the opportunity to start working.

Working hours vary, and you must be prepared to work very early mornings, with the most common start time being 03:50. You work shifts according to a fixed schedule, working both weekdays and weekends.

We offer part-time employment, 50% or 70%, starting in late summer/autumn 2026.

To be eligible for the position, you must:

• Be of legal age
• Have Swedish citizenship
• Have a clean criminal record* and be law-abiding
• Communicate well in Swedish and English
• Have good health and physical fitness
• Have no payment defaults or unsettled debts
• Have a final grade of at least Swedish 1 and English 5 at the upper secondary level or equivalent educational level
• Have functional color vision and hearing

* To be employed by Avarn Security AB, you must be approved by the County Administrative Board for employment in an authorized security company, in accordance with the Act (1974:191) on Security Companies. Applications to the County Administrative Board are handled by Avarn Security. Depending on the position, a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may also be required. To investigate and assess whether you meet the requirements of the respective legislation, a background check is conducted. This assessment covers law-abidingness, suitability, reliability, loyalty, and potential vulnerabilities. Information collected may come from you, from open sources, or from authorities. When assessing suitability for a position, we always apply a holistic assessment.

To work at Arlanda, a approved security clearance is required, which means you must be able to prove your employment during the last five years. This must be documented with certificates, grades, or equivalent documentation covering the period from June 2021 to the present.
