Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher, you will work targeted towards our lower primary school level, linked to a year group consisting of three classes. Together with teachers and lead teachers, you will plan, implement, and follow up on the results of teaching at both individual and group levels. You are responsible for close student health work in your year group together with three mentors and a lead teacher.

Together with other special needs teachers at the school, you will also work school-wide to develop an accessible learning environment. As a special needs teacher, you teach students, work with the learning environment, support teachers regarding extra adaptations, conduct investigations into students' need for special support, write and evaluate action plans. You also collaborate with other competencies within student health services and external actors.

Qualifications

You are a certified primary school teacher for grades 1–3 or grades 4–6 with qualifications in at least Swedish as a second language and mathematics. You have a special needs teacher degree with a focus on language, writing, and reading development. You have worked as a teaching teacher at the lower or middle primary level. As a special needs teacher, you must be able to teach, monitor, and assess students' language and reading development. Therefore, it is significant that you have good linguistic competence in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.

The school works on developing genre pedagogy and Sigmamathematics. It is meritorious if you have knowledge and experience in this area. As an employee, you lead yourself in your assignment. You find it easy to build relationships and enjoy varied work with significant responsibility. You collaborate easily and are both flexible and curious. In the classroom, you have clear leadership. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and practice, you work efficiently with relevant digital tools.

Augustenborgsskolan is a grades F–9 school in southern central Malmö with approximately 750 students. We are a multicultural school with students and staff from all corners of the world.
