Job Description

We are now looking for an engaged special needs educator (specialpedagog) for Kungshögsskolan to work together with our two other special needs educators, our special needs teachers, and other professionals in the school's student health team.

The special needs educator works at the organizational, group, and individual levels with mapping, supervision, and observation of individual children, students, and groups. The special needs educator works to ensure that students achieve the best possible development, both academically and socially, and actively influences and stimulates students to develop as far as possible to meet the knowledge requirements. The special needs educator conducts training and supervision for staff working with children and students in need of special support. The special needs educator participates in operational and method development, conducts classroom observations, designs and prepares mappings, pedagogical investigations, action plans, and intervention programs. They actively participate in interdisciplinary cooperation in the school's student health team. As needed, they work directly with individual students and/or groups, as well as maintaining close contact with parents. Collaboration with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), Habilitation Services (HAB), and other agencies for the benefit of the student and according to the school's mission.

Qualifications

You, as an applicant, are a certified primary school teacher and hold a degree in special needs education.

It is meritorious to have a few years of experience working as a teacher and special needs educator. You have experience with pedagogical mappings, good knowledge of reading and writing acquisition, as well as mathematics teaching for grades 1–6. You should have knowledge and experience of assessment.

You have insight and knowledge within school development and regarding the school's governing documents, and you can apply them in your daily work. You have acquired knowledge and experience in supervision/training, student health work, and working with documentation, pedagogical investigations, extra adjustments, and special support/intervention programs.

You have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore also lead and organize the work towards the student(s) to create study peace and a good learning environment throughout the day. Based on evidence-based research, we see that you can develop your work, and we want you to be accustomed to and knowledgeable about working with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
