About the Workplace

Djurgårdsskolan is located within walking distance of Eskilstuna city center and hosts approximately 800 students from preschool class to grade nine. The school is situated near the Djurgården park area and Odlarskogen forest, offering beautiful walking trails and exercise tracks. The school is also home to the Old Town Music Classes, attracting students from across Eskilstuna Municipality. We are proud of the many students who choose us!

Responsibilities

In your first year, you will teach Home Economics and Consumer Studies to students in grades 7–9. Subsequently, you will teach Home Economics and Consumer Studies along with one additional subject, based on your qualifications and the school's needs. You will plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching in accordance with the national curriculum.

You will receive support from an experienced colleague and teach in a well-equipped room with eight kitchens. Practical sessions are conducted in half-classes, providing ample opportunities for guidance and high teaching quality. You will be part of the grade 7–9 team and work as a mentor alongside a colleague in a middle school class. Close collaboration with subject colleagues is essential for exchanging knowledge and promoting student learning.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teacher degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach Home Economics and Consumer Studies, as well as another subject, for grades 7–9. If you are currently studying and will complete your degree soon, we also welcome your application. Experience in teaching and working with the current curriculum is meritorious.
