Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for an engaged and certified primary school teacher with a specialization in after-school programs (fritidshem) to join our team at Kungshögsskolan. In our new facilities, we are seeking you who want to join us on the journey to continue developing our operations – to create the best after-school program. In our own dedicated spaces, we see endless possibilities and prerequisites for the activities we believe in. We want to provide students with a meaningful and enjoyable daily routine and aim for new heights for our after-school program. We expect you to actively work with relational theories to get to know and meet each student's needs and interests. You conduct varied and creative teaching, find strategies to reach every student, and build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues alike. In the after-school program, we strive to promote diverse contacts, social community, and strengthen group relations. Your role includes creating a stimulating learning environment for all students throughout their entire day, both in the after-school program and in school, in accordance with current curriculum documents.

You are responsible for and drive planning, teaching, and assessment in the after-school program, and together with colleagues, create a stimulating pedagogical after-school activity. During school hours, you work with recess activities aimed at creating safety, community, and joy in movement among students, which in turn contributes positively to their learning and development. At Kungshögsskolan, you are offered close leadership from assistant principals and the after-school coordinator, collegial collaboration in teams, clear structure for meetings, planning, and development work, as well as active support from the student health service in daily work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher with a specialization in after-school programs. Previous experience in the profession is meritorious. You have good insight and knowledge of the school's curriculum documents and apply these in your daily work.

Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills that enable you to independently lead and organize your work. Your role includes creating safety, study peace, and a good learning environment for all our students throughout the day. Your teaching is modern, and you develop your work based on evidence-based research. You have good knowledge and experience working effectively with relevant digital tools.

Kungshögsskolan is a newly built school (2024) with good opportunities and prerequisites in the learning environment. The school has approximately 550 students from preschool class to grade 6. The school is located in Oxie, next to green areas, with good access to transportation. At the school, we have a climate of trust where we work together to create a school we are all proud of. We have a positive view of students, high expectations, and keep the students in focus. Collegial learning is central to our school; we learn from and with each other to develop. Our after-school program is organized into four divisions, where each division has its own after-school facilities.
