In Ludvika, children and young people are important! We demonstrate this by placing children and young people at the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and young people are consolidated under a single committee. This includes preschool, compulsory school, adapted compulsory school, and individual and family care. What all these operations have in common is a conscious quality work aimed at continuously developing and improving the work with children and young people.
The Workplace
In Ludvika Municipality, there are approximately 1,060 students with a mother tongue other than Swedish during the 2025/2026 school year.
The Multilingualism Unit is the department within the compulsory school where all study mentors and mother tongue teachers are employed. There are 26 staff members in total, collectively mastering 23 different languages. Together, we work to promote the mother tongue and ensure that language does not become a barrier to a student's academic success. As an employee here, you will experience the municipality's core values, "Lagandan": relationships, joy, learning, and drive. Ludvika Municipality has been part of the administrative area for the Finnish language since February 1, 2015.
