Children and young people are important in Ludvika! We demonstrate this by making children and young people the focal point of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and young people are gathered under a single board. This includes preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, and individual and family care. What all these operations have in common is a conscious quality work aimed at continuously developing and improving the work with children and young people.
The Workplace
In Ludvika Municipality, there are approximately 1,060 students with a mother tongue other than Swedish during the 2025/2026 school year.
The Multilingual Unit is the department within the primary school where all study guides and mother tongue teachers are employed. There are 26 of them, and together they master 23 different languages. Together, we work to elevate the mother tongue and ensure that language does not become a hindrance to the student's academic success. As an employee here, you will experience the municipality's value base, "Lagandan": relationships, joy, learning, and drive. Ludvika Municipality has been part of the administrative area for the Finnish language since February 1, 2015.
