5 Positions Available – Mother Tongue Instruction in Kristianstad

The Mother Tongue Unit in Kristianstad organizes mother tongue instruction and study guidance for approximately 2,500 students in Kristianstad Municipality. We currently employ around 50 mother tongue teachers covering 30 different languages.

We are now looking for you who can teach in one of the following languages: Vietnamese, Albanian, Turkish, Danish, or Romani Chib. Welcome to join our team!

Your Role With Us

As a mother tongue teacher, you teach based on the national curriculum for the subject of mother tongue. Additionally, the role may include study guidance in the mother tongue for newly arrived students in various school subjects. You work at various primary and upper secondary schools in the municipality in close collaboration with class teachers.

With dedication, you empower students to learn and take responsibility. You plan, implement, and evaluate your teaching. You adapt your instruction to meet all students at their level, with the student's best interests as the focus. The role involves assessing and documenting each individual student's needs, knowledge, and abilities.

In your work, you demonstrate good leadership and utilize alternative learning tools. You take responsibility for your working hours, trust time, and professional development. Through dialogue and mutual respect, you build good relationships with students and guardians.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for you who are qualified to teach your mother tongue through a Swedish primary school teacher education or a validated teacher education from your home country. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language (at least Swedish 3 or SvB). You can communicate fluently in speech and writing in Swedish and either Turkish, Vietnamese, Danish, Romani Chib, or Albanian. Furthermore, you have at least 30 higher education credits (hp) in the mother tongue. The requested language is your mother tongue.

It is meritorious if you have worked as a mother tongue teacher or study guide. Experience with remote or distance teaching is seen as an advantage. The position requires good IT skills and the ability to integrate digital technology into teaching. It is meritorious if you have knowledge in mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. Furthermore, a B driving license and access to a car are advantageous.

In your work, you can take initiative and are good at collaborating. You have the ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise.
