Job Responsibilities

As a special educator at Östra Karups School, you will work at the organizational, group, and individual levels to facilitate learning for our students who need adjustments and/or special support, for grades F-6. You will work closely together with our special education team.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Ongoing preventive and promoting work aimed at identifying and removing obstacles in various learning environments.
• Investigations regarding special support, as well as drafting and evaluating action plans.
• Teaching students, both individually and in groups.
• Opportunities to conduct training and mentor staff members.
• Continuous collaboration with colleagues and keeping school leadership and other staff informed about the development of students in need of special support.

You will be part of the school's student health team, consisting of special teachers, counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, speech therapists, and school leadership.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teacher's degree in an appropriate age group, as well as a special education and/or special teacher's degree. Previous experience working as a teacher and as a special educator or special teacher is desirable. Competence or a deepened interest in language, reading, and writing development is considered an asset.

You have insight into the school's governing documents and can apply them in your daily work. Good didactic and pedagogical skills are required to lead and organize work towards the student(s) to create study peace and a good learning environment throughout the day. We value evidence-based practice and that you are familiar with using relevant digital tools.

As a person, you are solution-focused, unpretentious, and flexible. In your work approach, you are result- and development-oriented. You create sustainable relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and have good collaboration skills. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
