Nursing Assistant for Short-Term Unit in Visby
REGION GOTLANDGotlands län, Gotland
Previous experience is desired
The short-term care unit in Visby opened in newly built premises in April 2022 and features 40 apartments/rooms, activity areas, and a beautiful garden. Here, short-term placements are offered for recovery after hospital stays, respite care as relief for family caregivers, as well as places for those waiting for adapted housing. Approximately 300 people are cared for at the unit each year, providing a flexible operation with varied assignments and the opportunity to meet new challenges.
We work together in a cross-professional team where nursing assistants, housing assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists contribute their different competencies. Through close collaboration and shared commitment, we create security, participation, and good care for the people who stay with us for a shorter period.
With us, you become part of a competent work group where we support each other and make use of each other's knowledge and experiences. Our work is permeated by our core values – trust, care, and participation.
We are now looking for three nursing assistants who want to become part of our team and contribute with their knowledge and commitment.
Your responsibilities
As a nursing assistant at the Short-Term Unit in Visby, you are an important part of the team and contribute to providing our users with secure and individualized care and support.
Your duties include, among other things:
- Provide individualized care and support based on each user's needs.
- Be responsible for medication management according to current routines and delegations.
- Perform rehabilitative and activating interventions in collaboration with occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
- Create social interaction and plan meaningful activities based on the users' wishes.
- Establish, follow up, and document implementation plans as well as ongoing documentation.
- Maintain contact with relatives and other partners.
- Be flexible and, if necessary, support other departments and operations.
You work according to a basic schedule that includes day, evening, and every other weekend shifts.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are trained as a nursing assistant and have the right to use the protected professional title according to current regulations.
It is meritorious if you have previously worked in the nursing profession or elderly care. Since the unit works with people who have cognitive and medical disabilities, BPSD, and palliative care, it is also meritorious if you have experience in any of these areas.
As a person, you have personal maturity and the ability to work both independently and in a team. You have good cooperation skills, are service-oriented, and actively contribute to positive collegial learning. You can distinguish between the personal and the professional and act steadily even in pressured situations.
You work in a structured manner, have a good overall view, and are flexible in handling changes in both tasks and working hours. Through your specialist knowledge, you contribute quality and security to the work and have the ability to adapt to the needs of the operation and the individual.
It is important that you are confident in the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as all documentation and communication takes place in Swedish.
