Welcome to Yngsjö School, a small rural school with approximately 80 students located just south of Åhus. Currently, we have four classes: Pre-school (F), Grades 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. We work closely together and strive to create the best possible learning environment for all students. We collaborate with the nearby preschool and have an active parent group. We travel to schools in Åhus for language, physical education, craft, and home economics lessons.

Your role with us

We operate with a B-form schedule, and you will primarily work with the 5-6 grade group, though you may also teach the 3-4 grade group. As a teacher here, you inspire students to learn and take personal responsibility. With engagement and enthusiasm, you create a secure learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation, demonstrating good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.

The teaching is designed based on the goals of the curriculum, where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are key pillars. You hold positive and high expectations for the students and adapt the teaching to suit all students' levels, with a focus on the student's best interests.

Through dialogue, you build good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you stay updated on events in the wider world and the daily lives of young people. Alternative learning tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. You systematically reflect on practical work and, together with colleagues, drive development work within the work group/school. You also share joint responsibility for your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new to teaching, you will be supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work. Unqualified teachers may conduct teaching but cannot be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a certified teacher.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for you with a teaching license and eligibility to teach in grades 4-6 in the subjects of Swedish, Mathematics, and English, as well as Natural Sciences (No) or Social Sciences (So) in primary school. As a secondary option, we seek you if you have university-level subject knowledge in the aforementioned subjects. It is an advantage if you have a university-level pedagogical education. You have experience in conducting teaching, and we would appreciate it if you have worked as a primary school teacher and have experience working with two grade levels in the same class.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, calm working atmosphere, and a desire to learn. We would appreciate it if you have a good ability to teach children in need of special support and if you can support students in handling conflicts that arise. You have engagement, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school world and how it is influenced by the outside world.

A success factor is your ability to create trusting relationships both in and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.

Naturally, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure your work based on set goals.

As a person, you are communicative, receptive, and well-versed, and you adhere to the ethical principles for teachers, as well as having the ability to analyze and document students' abilities and knowledge.

To allow us to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. If no qualified certified teachers are available, you may be employed on a fixed-term basis according to the Education Act. When we wish to offer you the position, you are required to show an extract from the police criminal record to enable us to employ you, according to provisions in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
