We are now looking for a Senior Teacher for our multilingual center! Are you our new colleague?

The Multilingual Center consists of approximately 50 mother tongue teachers who together teach in about 30 languages. Our main task is to provide high-quality mother tongue instruction and study guidance. We also strive to develop the operations to support preschools, primary schools, upper secondary schools, and adapted schools in various ways to improve children's and students' language development.

Your role with us

Your basic assignment is teaching in existing grade levels in your language of instruction.

You will, for example, focus on:

• Planning and driving development work in consultation with unit managers, based on systematic quality work.
• Identifying and formulating important didactic questions in the operations and actively driving these in consultation with unit managers.
• Working consultatively towards colleagues.
• Planning, leading, and developing collegial learning.
• Keeping up to date with the latest research.
• Mentoring other teachers.
• Being prepared to mentor individual staff members, primarily within your assignment but also in other matters.
• Conducting teaching observations followed by reflective conversations.
• Conducting demonstration lessons where colleagues observe your teaching from a formative approach.
• Being prepared to take significant responsibility for the assignment and detail it in dialogue with principals, supervisors, and other senior teachers at the school.

Who are we looking for?

You who apply have a teaching license with eligibility to teach in the subject of mother tongue.

We want you to be able to document at least four years of well-regarded work with teaching in the school system through documentation. This means you have experience in teaching the subject of mother tongue as well as study guidance in the mother tongue. Based on your previous experience, you can demonstrate a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and mentor other teachers. You need to have a good ability to give developmental feedback to students, guardians, and colleagues, rooted in scientific basis and proven experience.

Substantial knowledge within the subject area you teach is a prerequisite for the work. As a Senior Teacher, it is required that you have very good pedagogical competence and a strong interest in developing teaching. You can adapt your work to the conditions of different groups and individuals. Thinking outside the box is needed in your role, as is your desire to develop yourself and the learning environment. Naturally, you are interested in participating in development projects that lead to improved student results.

We would like you to have knowledge about how to conduct teaching observations, work with mirroring and feedback, lead group discussions, and have conversations with individual colleagues. You also have knowledge about how values-based work can be developed. We want you to have empathetic ability, be self-reliant, structured, and clear.

To allow us to assess your application, we want you to attach your teaching license and degree certificate. When we wish to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police's criminal record so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
