Job Description

You will conduct teaching in the subject of native language, but also be able to carry out study counseling in the native language with newly arrived students in various school subjects. The work will be distributed across different primary schools in the municipality, in close collaboration with principals and class teachers.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Following the curriculum for the native language subject.
• Writing assessments and assigning grades.
• Using the school's digital tools (e.g., Google Drive, Google Classroom) to develop teaching methods.

We aim to schedule part-time positions on few days per week to allow for combination with other employment. The size of the position depends on any combination of subjects, the need for study counseling, and the number of newly arrived students in the municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is qualified to teach in your native language through a Swedish teacher's degree or a validated teacher's degree from your home country. Additionally, you must have studied at least 30 credits in your native language, have good knowledge of the Swedish language (at least Sv3), and be able to communicate fluently in both speech and writing.

The following are considered meritorious:

• Experience working as a native language teacher or study counselor.
• Good knowledge of study counseling and IT.
• Knowledge in mathematics, Social Studies (SO), and Natural Sciences (NO).
• Experience in mentoring, as we work with peer mentoring for newly arrived students.

As a person, you take initiative and have good collaboration skills. You are confident, flexible, positive, and engaged, and enjoy working with operational development.

• Type of Employment: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer.
• Scope: 35%
