Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Workplace Description

Gubbängsskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) located in the Farsta area. We are situated between the Gubbängen row house area north of the school and the large Gubbäng field to the south. The school has approximately 700 students with a three-stream upper secondary level (grades 7-9). Our vision is "A school where everyone wants to develop and gets the desire to learn more".

We want to gather the best competencies and are looking for you who want a challenge in a dynamic and creative environment. At Gubbängsskolan, you will meet and collaborate with dedicated and goal-oriented colleagues. Our upper secondary level is led by an engaged teaching staff who, together with the stage's special educators and social pedagogues, work closely together to create good teaching and a safe environment.

Job Description

Gubbängsskolan is looking for an engaged, skilled, and experienced teacher in Swedish and Social Studies (SO) for grades 7-9. You will become a mentor for a class and have a special responsibility for driving the work in the given grade level at the upper secondary level.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who, with drive and engagement, want to take on a leadership role and contribute to the development of our upper secondary level.

You are a certified teacher and qualified for grades 7-9 in Swedish and Social Studies. You have a broad education and are certified in the subject of Swedish and at least one of the Social Studies subjects. 2 or more Social Studies subjects are meritorious.

You have good communicative skills both in speech and writing and are confident in using digital tools in all parts of the teaching role. Relationship-building and conscious mentoring are part of how you create security and participation. You have an inclusive view of learning with the student in focus. Together with your colleagues, you create a work environment characterized by clarity and structure, openness and respect, as well as high expectations of each other and our students.

Meeting students where they are and adapting teaching at both group and individual levels is something you see as a matter of course. You plan, organize, prioritize, and analyze your lesson structure as well as other tasks included in your role in an effective manner.

Collaboration with colleagues is important. You are positive, non-hierarchical, and solution-focused, and have good communication and collaboration skills with good insight into – and knowledge of – the school's governing documents, applying them practically in daily work.

We place great importance on personal suitability. We will have ongoing interviews during the application period.

Stockholm City works with competency-based recruitment aimed at looking at each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

Open to All
We focus on your competence, not your other prerequisites. We are open to adapting the role or workplace according to your needs.
