Mother Tongue Teacher in Turkish – Ängelholm Municipality

Ängelholm Municipality is now seeking an engaged mother tongue teacher in Turkish. The position is organized under the Language Centre, and mother tongue instruction takes place in the municipality's primary schools and upper secondary school. Study guidance is ordered based on the school's needs and is conducted at various school units within the municipality.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to work as a mother tongue teacher in Turkish. Your duties include teaching students in their mother tongue based on the school's governing documents. From year 6 onwards, you will grade students according to the subject's knowledge requirements. As a teacher, you are expected to actively work with value-based education according to our curricula. Mapping of student knowledge may also be part of the work with students. Assessments within the mother tongue may also be included.

Your duties may also include study guidance in the mother tongue. As a study guide, you will, in collaboration with the students' other teachers and pedagogues, guide newly arrived students based on course plans and knowledge requirements in all school subjects. If needed, you will also assist with translation during student meetings and when transferring information between school and student/home. You are expected to take an active part in the daily work and contribute to the development of work teams and students to achieve higher goal fulfillment.

You should be well-versed in the school's governing documents and able to translate these into practical work. Flexibility is of great importance as schedules and student materials may change during the term. Teaching takes place at various schools in Ängelholm Municipality.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have a teaching degree and good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing. Very good oral and written skills in the mother tongue (Turkish) are required. Since the work takes place at many different school units, you need to have good cooperation skills and be easy to connect with. You are expected to take an active part in the development work regarding mother tongue instruction and study guidance via the Language Centre.

Good computer skills are required. A driver's license and own car are mandatory.
