Job Description

We are now looking for you who are a qualified primary school teacher for after-school care (fritidshem) and want to work as a coordinator for our after-school center. We are looking for someone with extensive experience working in after-school care and who is interested in developing the operations and taking the next step. In your role, you are responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing students in our after-school center. Based on the curriculum and our guiding documents, you create an environment in the after-school center aimed at strengthening our students in both their knowledge development and their personal growth. As a primary school teacher for after-school care with us, you will also work to offer our students a meaningful leisure time. This includes encouraging diverse contacts, social community, and strengthening group relationships. While our students are in school, you collaborate with our school staff. In your role as coordinator, you will have an overarching responsibility to strengthen and develop our after-school center.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher for after-school care. You have previous experience from the profession. You have good insight and knowledge of the school's guiding documents and apply them in daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills that allow you to independently lead and organize your work to create study peace and a good learning environment for our students throughout the day. You are creative and can adapt your approach and your pedagogical methods and techniques based on the needs of the individual student or student group. You develop the pedagogical operations to become both fun, inspiring, and challenging, and you create good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work, and with good knowledge and experience, you work efficiently with relevant digital tools.

About the Workplace

Bergaskolan is a large F-9 primary school with an associated after-school center. There are also two classes within adapted primary school for the older students and associated short-term stays. Our premises are well adapted for the operations that take place within them. The proximity to Limhamn Sports Field and sports hall is something we utilize well. Ahead of autumn 2026, the school is restructuring its work and development organization where deputy principals will in greater extent be given the opportunity to work close to their areas of responsibility. The principal leads the combined student health services where school nurses, counselors, SYV (career guidance counselors), and special educators are included. Special teachers are also part of the Student Health Team (EHT) regarding knowledge development and follow-up. Our pedagogical focus lies on language and knowledge-developing work that should permeate the entire school. In our earlier school years, we strongly focus on meeting all our students, and a clear focus lies on reading, writing, and arithmetic. At Bergaskolan, we actively work to ensure that every student thrives and feels secure. Just as important as our students thriving and feeling good is that our employees have clear assignments that are followed up and work teams that support each other and work together towards our goals. School leadership works close to the work teams for a joint and focused pedagogical leadership that leads to a secure school and good results for both students and staff.
