The mental health department of the Health and Medical Care Administration consists of inpatient psychiatric care, adult outpatient psychiatry, addiction care, and child and adolescent psychiatry. The operations employ approximately 110 staff members in total.
The mandate of the department is to provide psychiatric specialist care to adults and to provide care for mental health issues to all children and adolescents up to the age of 17. Psychiatric specialist care is provided at clinics and/or at home, as well as in inpatient care when necessary. The department aims to offer a broad range of competencies and services, which is a challenge given that the catchment area is relatively small in both size and population. The vision is a common person-centered value base that is expressed in both patient interactions and meetings between staff and leaders.
The ward has 18 care beds. Our team is a competent and positive group consisting of experienced care assistants and nurses of varying ages, professional experience, and cultural backgrounds. Together, we strive for good and safe patient care and a good working environment. We place great emphasis on involving patients in their own care. We are keen to convey a humanistic value base and create a good care environment for our patients.
We are looking for a care assistant/nurse for a rotational position.
Your responsibilities
The work consists of patient interviews, participating in and initiating activities with patients, performing nursing care measures, documentation in the electronic medical record system TakeCare, and routine practical tasks on a psychiatric ward. Work within psychiatry is constantly evolving, and we always strive for modern and innovative working methods. Therefore, participation in the ward's quality and development work is a given for our employees.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are trained as a care assistant or nurse with a focus on psychiatry, or alternatively have education from a university college or similar, with a focus on psychiatry. Additional merit is given to education in conversation methodology and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), as well as knowledge of working with children and their families.
We would appreciate it if you have previous experience working in psychiatric operations. As a person, we believe you are engaged, responsible, meticulous, flexible, and quality-conscious. In interactions with patients, relatives, and colleagues, you are sensitive and respectful. We are looking for someone with good collaboration and communication skills who can handle people in difficult situations and acute circumstances. We place great importance on your personal suitability, where professional and personal treatment is essential.
A background check via an extract from the criminal record register will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
