Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium, VBU, is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, vocational higher education, and commissioned training. We work on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. VBU has approximately 250 employees, around 1,800 students, and an annual turnover of approximately 225 million SEK. About You

You hold a vocational teacher degree in nursing/health care subjects or are a certified upper secondary teacher with work experience from the healthcare sector. Furthermore, you possess strong digital competencies and experience working in various digital platforms. Your Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to teach health care subjects on the Healthcare and Care program at the upper secondary level. Your role involves guiding and supporting students in their learning, as well as carrying out other tasks included in the pedagogical assignment. Courses offered on the program include health and social care, nursing, psychiatry, psychology, anatomy, and physiology. Students who complete the program become certified assistant nurses.

As a teacher at VBU, you provide leadership that challenges and builds trust-based relationships with high levels of participation. You communicate and formulate goals, and evaluate working methods, approaches, and goal achievement together with students and colleagues in daily work. You have a good understanding of how students acquire knowledge and their varying prerequisites. You adapt your teaching situationally, focusing on ensuring all students reach as far as possible, and adjust how you convey your message to the recipient. As support, you fully utilize your didactic and methodological competence with a broad arsenal of methods, tools, and deep subject knowledge. It is an advantage if you are familiar with language and knowledge-developing working methods.

You will be part of a small team of teachers who teach on the Healthcare and Care program. You also have access to student health services for support regarding student-related matters.

Employment Terms

The position is a permanent appointment (holiday cover) starting in August 2026. We require a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) upon employment and may apply a probationary period of up to 6 months in certain cases.
