About Nexus and the Role
We are looking for a teacher for Nexus, a unit comprising emergency school (akutskola) and a municipal special education group (KSU). Nexus is part of the municipality's support structure for students with extensive needs, where the regular school organization temporarily is not sufficient.
As a teacher at Nexus, you are responsible for teaching in small and flexible groups and work to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to develop based on their prerequisites. The assignment is relationship-oriented and requires a good ability to meet students in challenging situations.
We offer a dynamic and developing workplace where collaboration, professionalism, and the student's best interests are in focus. Here, you have the opportunity to make a real difference for students in vulnerable situations and be part of an engaged team working together to create a safe and educational school environment.
Number of positions: 2
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include:
- Planning and conducting teaching based on the student's study plan from their home school.
- Adapting teaching to the students' individual needs and supporting their learning process.
- Working to strengthen students' social and emotional skills as well as motivation for learning.
- Documenting, following up, and evaluating students' knowledge development and progression.
- Collaborating with colleagues within Nexus as well as with the student's home school.
- Communicating goals, development, and progression with students and guardians.
- Participating in the unit's joint development work.
You will be part of a team consisting of teachers and social pedagogues. Support from the central student health service is available if needed. The size and composition of the teaching groups may vary over time.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with eligibility for primary school. You have experience working with students in challenging situations and/or with extensive support needs. Good knowledge of and application of low-affective handling is meritorious, as is the ability to adapt teaching and learning environments based on students' different needs. You have a good ability to collaborate and work together with colleagues, home schools, and external actors.
To succeed in the role, we see that you are secure and stable in your teaching role and clear in your communication. You are responsible, professional, solution-oriented, and creative in your pedagogical work. As a person, you are empathetic, attentive, and respectful in your meeting with students. You have the ability to create an inclusive classroom climate that contributes to study peace, security, and learning.
Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
