Children and young people are important in Ludvika! We demonstrate this by placing children and young people at the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and young people have been consolidated under a single board. This includes preschool, primary school, special needs primary school, and individual and family care. What all these operations have in common is a conscious quality work aimed at continuously developing and improving the work with children and young people.

At the Vasaskolan principal's area, we work to ensure that our students are always at the center. We strive to make our school the best school for every student who attends. A crucial factor in this is that we work together on planning, follow-up, assessment, and organization. At our school, students go from preschool class to grade 6, and in each grade, there are teachers, after-school teachers, and teacher assistants as needed. Together, the professions in the grades form the "Little Team," where most of the grade's operational matters are handled. We are currently looking for after-school teachers to expand our team.
In recent years, we have developed our knowledge regarding assessment, learned a lot about multilingualism, and placed extra focus on values-based work. In our principal's area, we have two lead teachers who, together with the teaching team, have worked extra to develop teaching in both large and small ways. Our after-school teachers support the school during the day, which can involve working as support in the classroom or for an individual student. Furthermore, it may involve working with special support or conducting various skill trainings, such as reading practice.
At Vasaskolan, we want learning to be fun, which is also why we laugh so much! Well-being, cooperation, and joy are just as important for our students as they are for us. You will join a workplace with good cohesion where there is always a colleague nearby for support and help if needed.
Job Responsibilities
At Vasaskolan, we start the day with breakfast at the after-school center or outside on the playground together with our wonderful children. You work together with your Little Team throughout the school day and spend the afternoon at the after-school center. There, you are responsible for an activity or participate in others' activities together with the children. Depending on your area of responsibility, you have individual planning each week, where you are expected to take initiative and document and evaluate your teaching according to the school's guidelines. We plan based on set themes and place extra focus on our values-based work and increased student influence at our after-school center.
Every week, all after-school teachers have a conference where the systematic quality work at the after-school center is followed up and planned. We also go through and co-plan the upcoming activities for the week. When the after-school teachers have their conference, the teaching team takes care of the children at the after-school center. For us at Vasaskolan, conferences for all professions are equally important, so we help each other.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified after-school teacher with a focus on music and drama. We would appreciate it if you had special educational needs competence. We view experience as meritorious, but we also offer mentorship support to you if you are a recent graduate.
As a person, it is important that you are flexible because every day in the school world is unique. You also need to be inventive, curious, and enjoy being challenged because in your role, you meet our children in different constellations during both the school day and the afternoon after-school program. You will have close cooperation with several other adults and therefore need to have good cooperation skills and be able to give and receive constructive criticism. Great importance will be placed on personal qualities.
