We at Väskolan are in an expansion phase where development and engagement are in focus. Approximately 500 students attend the school, from preschool class to grade 9. We also offer after-school activities for students in grades F-6.

Your role with us

As a teacher with us, you stimulate students to learn and take personal responsibility. With engagement and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and collaboration, through good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.

The teaching is designed based on the goals of the curriculum, where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important pillars. You have positive and high expectations of the students and adapt the teaching to the level of all students, with a focus on the student's best interests.

Through dialogue, you build good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting approach. In your role, you stay up to date with events in the outside world and the daily lives of young people. Alternative teaching tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. You systematically reflect on practical work and, together with colleagues, drive development work in the work group/school. You also share responsibility for both your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new as a teacher, you are supported by a mentor for the best guidance in the work, and you as an unqualified teacher can conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. A certified teacher is responsible for grading.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for you with a teaching certificate and the qualification to teach in grades 7-9 in the subjects of Swedish and English in primary school. It is meritorious if you have one or more of the following subjects: mathematics, natural sciences, or social sciences for grades 7-9 within the scope of your qualification. In the second hand, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge at the university level in the above-mentioned subject. It is meritorious if you have a pedagogical education at the university level.

It is meritorious if you have previously worked as a teacher in primary school or have experience in conducting teaching or alternatively worked with children/young people aged 13-16. We would like you to have a good ability to teach children in need of special support. The ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise is also an advantage.

You have the ability to adapt the teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, calm work environment, and a desire to learn. You have engagement, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the school world and how it is affected by the outside world.

A success factor is that you can build trusting relationships both in and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.

Of course, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure the work based on the stated goals.

As a person, you are communicative, receptive, and well-versed, and you live up to the ethical principles for teachers and have a talent for analyzing and documenting students' abilities and knowledge.

To enable us to make a decision on your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching certificate. If there are no qualified certified teachers, you as an unqualified person can be employed on a fixed-term basis according to the School Act. When we want to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police record to enable us to employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the School Act.
