About the role and your responsibilities

We are now looking for a special needs educator who is deeply committed to every child's right to equal education for the preschools in area 9, Revinge/Södra Sandby. You will belong to and work at all six preschools in the area.

The special needs educator's main task is, on behalf of the principal, to support the preschools' work in creating accessible education and to contribute to ensuring that all children's right to support and special support is met. You will also collaborate with and receive support from assistant principals.

As a special needs educator, you play a vital role in supporting the preschool team to develop and adapt learning environments so that all children can participate in all parts of the education and develop as far as possible according to the goals of the education.

In the role of special needs educator, you will mentor and support staff in adapting teaching and learning environments to each child's individual needs. You act as a role model in daily work, demonstrating concretely how different pedagogical methods and approaches can be applied in practice. By working close to the educational activities, you provide on-site mentoring and are close to the children when needed. Together with the team, you are responsible for mapping needs and creating action plans.

You also collaborate with management, guardians, and external actors to create a holistic and continuous support for the children.

Main responsibilities:

• Mentoring, support, and counseling.
• Observation and follow-up in operations.
• Support and assistance in mapping (BIBASS).
• Participate in conversations with guardians as needed.
• Create action plans in consultation with the principal and staff.
• Screening of children's language development using the SIT-test.
• Lead preschool conferences.
• Collaborate with other authorities such as schools, speech therapists, hearing educators, social services, Child Health Center (BVC), Habilitation Services (HAB), and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP).
• Lectures and training based on operational needs, competence development in specific subjects.
• Applications for Extended School Age Care (EOS).
• Investigate bullying cases in Prorenata.
• Values-based work.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who have a preschool teacher license and are educated as a special needs educator. It is meritorious if you have experience from similar work or have worked with children in need of special support.

You need to be familiar with and able to use various tools and methods based on scientific ground and proven experience, such as mentoring, coaching, observation, etc. Furthermore, you have knowledge about mapping and creating action plans.

As a special needs educator, you have the ability to work with other people; to listen, show empathy, and respect. You encourage and support change initiatives. Furthermore, you are curious and have a genuine interest in children's development and learning. You have the ability to adapt to changed conditions and create good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues, and contribute to working for equality and quality.

To succeed in your assignment, you need to be interested in systematic quality work, have the ability to analyze, evaluate, and suggest changes, both based on the preschools' education and your own contribution.

In the preschool area of Revinge/Södra Sandby, we organize and develop preschool activities together through our operational idea: Listen - Learn - Lead. All preschools have every child's future in their hands for an equal education based on science.
