Villaskolan is a school for grades F-6 with two classes in almost every grade level. The school is nestled among pines in the scenic area of Åhus, and it is easy to reach by both bus and car.

Your role with us

This position begins with a three-month period where you have overall responsibility as a substitute teacher for a class in grade five, and then continues with you dividing your teaching time between that class and another (when our regular teacher returns from parental leave).

As a teacher with us, you stimulate students to learn and take personal responsibility. With engagement and enthusiasm, you create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation, through good leadership both inside and outside the classroom.

The teaching is designed based on the goals of the curriculum, where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important foundational pillars. You have positive and high expectations of the students and adapt the teaching to the level of all students, with a focus on the student's best interests.

Through dialogue, you create good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting attitude. In your role, you stay up to date with events in the world and the daily lives of young people. Alternative learning tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. You systematically reflect on practical work and, together with colleagues, drive development work in the work group/school. You also share responsibility for both your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new as a teacher, you are supported by a mentor for the best guidance in the work, and you as an unqualified teacher can conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a certified teacher.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for you with a teaching certification with eligibility to teach in grades 4-6 in the subjects of mathematics, Science, Technology, and Swedish in primary school. It is an advantage if you, within the framework of your teaching certification, have eligibility in one or more additional subjects for grades 4-6. In the second place, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge at the university level in the aforementioned subjects. It is an advantage if you have pedagogical education at the university level.

If you have previously worked as a teacher in primary school, it is an advantage. We would like to see that you have a good ability to teach children/students in need of special support. The ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise is also an advantage.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, calmness, and a desire to learn. You have engagement, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the world of school and how it is affected by the outside world.

A success factor is that you can create trusting relationships both in and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the work group's methods for continuous development.

Naturally, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure the work based on stated goals.

As a person, you are communicative, receptive, and well-versed, and you live up to the ethical principles for teachers, as well as having a talent for analyzing and documenting students' abilities and knowledge.

In order for us to be able to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching certification. If there are no eligible certified teachers, you as an unqualified person can be employed on a time-limited basis according to the School Act. When we want to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police criminal record so that we can employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the School Act.
