The upper secondary school area has a varied operation targeting young people. Our units are characterized by good quality, proximity, and that we actively work to create safe and enriching encounters between the people in the operations. Our goal is for our students and participants to leave education equipped with the opportunity to choose their future and think back proudly on their study time.

At the adapted upper secondary school at Platengymnasiet, students with intellectual disabilities are welcomed who study for four years. We offer four programs: hotel, restaurant, and bakery; health, care, and nursing; property and construction; as well as the individual program. At the adapted upper secondary school, we work in teams around smaller groups of students. The teams consist of both teachers and student assistants.

The health and care program is a vocational education for students who want to work with people and contribute to their health and quality of life. The education combines theory with practice (APL) and provides knowledge in areas such as nursing, medicine, psychiatry, and social work.

DUTIES

The position is a full-time fixed-term position for the school year 2026/27, with possible extension. Applicants must hold a teacher's license in English. Qualification in Swedish or Swedish as a second language is meritorious, but other subject combinations may also be suitable.

The position is located partly in the health and care program and partly in the adapted upper secondary school. Both operations are located at Platengymnasiet. The duties include standard teacher tasks such as planning, conducting teaching, and monitoring and assessing students' knowledge development.

A central part of the assignment is to be able to adapt the teaching based on the students' different needs and prerequisites.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply have good didactic competence and experience in teaching English. You are a licensed teacher in English and work systematically with planning, implementation, and assessment in accordance with the curriculum and subject plan.

You who apply are interested in working with students with functional variations within the school's operations. Experience of working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities is therefore meritorious.

You who apply have a good understanding of people's different prerequisites and you can adapt your way of conveying your message to the recipient. You find it easy to create new relationships and maintain relationships.

You are stable and confident in yourself and handle stress in a constructive way. You work well with other people and are sensitive and empathetic.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
