The psychiatric area of the Health and Medical Care Administration consists of inpatient psychiatric care, adult outpatient psychiatry, addiction care, and child and adolescent psychiatry. The operation has a total of approximately 160 employees.
The remit of the area is to be responsible for providing psychiatric specialist care to adults and to be responsible for providing care for mental ill-health to all children and young people up to the age of 17. Psychiatric specialist care is provided at clinics and/or at home, and as needed within inpatient care. The operation is to offer a breadth in terms of both competence and services, which is a challenge as the catchment area is relatively small both in terms of area and population. The vision is a common person-centred value base that is expressed in both patient encounters and meetings between employees and leaders.
The ward has 18 care beds. We who work on the ward are a competent and positive work group with experienced care assistants and nurses of varying ages, professional experience, and cultural backgrounds. Together, we work for good and safe patient care and a good working environment. Great focus is placed on involving patients in their care. We are keen to convey a humanistic value base and create a good care environment for our patients.
Your tasks
The work consists of patient conversations, participating in and initiating activities with patients, performing nursing measures, documentation in the electronic patient record system TakeCare, and usual practical tasks on a psychiatric care ward. The work within psychiatry is constantly developing and we constantly strive for modern and innovative ways of working. Therefore, participation in the ward's quality and development work is a matter of course for our employees.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are trained as a care assistant or nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry, or alternatively have education from a university college or similar, with a focus on psychiatry. It is an advantage to have education in conversation methodology and DBT, as well as knowledge of working with children and their families.
We would like you, the applicant, to have previous experience of working in psychiatric operations. As a person, we believe you are engaged, responsible, meticulous, flexible, and quality-conscious. In meetings with patients, relatives, and colleagues, you are receptive and respectful. We are looking for you who have good cooperation and communication skills and can handle people in difficult situations and acute situations. We place great importance on your personal suitability where a professional and personal approach is essential.
We are looking for you who want to work as a temporary substitute based on a varied operational need where you may be needed with short notice and are expected to work varying times of the day.
A background check through an extract from the criminal record register is carried out before a decision on employment is made.
