We are now looking for a Senior Teacher (Förstelärare) for Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) at Year Levels F-3 at Västra Skolan.

You are expected to contribute to higher goal achievement at the school in Swedish through teaching and work with the school's systematic quality work. The main part of the Senior Teacher's role is teaching and tasks related to teaching. You are also expected to participate in and drive the processes regarding the transition to a 10-year compulsory school. You will lead and mentor collegial pedagogical development work. This involves planning, organizing, and leading development processes that affect individual colleagues, multiple colleagues, work teams, and development groups at the school. These development processes are identified in the school's systematic quality work to lead to higher goal achievement.

The Senior Teacher contributes to:

  • Strengthening the quality of teaching practice
  • Supporting teachers to anchor teaching in research, science, and proven experience
  • Promoting more equitable teaching within and between schools
  • Creating conditions for teachers to jointly develop their own practice
  • Enabling teachers to jointly drive their own professional development

The Senior Teacher works at their own workplace but also has a partly municipal and administrative cross-cutting assignment by spreading good examples.

Qualifications

You as an applicant are a certified teacher for Year Levels F-3 with eligibility to teach in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language. To be considered for the Senior Teacher role, you must, through documentation, be able to report at least four years of well-regarded work after graduation involving teaching within the framework of one or more employments within the school system. Furthermore, we would like you to have experience in mentoring other teachers or driving development processes based on systematic quality work. You must also be able to communicate very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Experience in working with language-developing teaching is seen as meritorious. Similarly, experience in planning and holding meetings with other teachers, for example as a work team leader. You need to have a good ability to develop teaching with support from research and proven experience.

Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and, with good knowledge and practice, work efficiently with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

We welcome your application!
