The Education Department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, after-school centers, upper secondary schools, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, together creating a secure and developmental school and childcare environment.

The Mother Tongue Unit is a department consisting of approximately 30 teachers who teach multilingual students. The students are spread across all municipal primary schools in Ystad Municipality. Currently, we offer instruction in 25 languages. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a person, you easily create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You thrive in a job where collaboration is crucial for results. With us, you will belong to a large work group. This means you need to be collaborative and creative, working both independently and together with others to find good solutions in various situations. You also need to be structured and plan your work based on existing guidelines, but be flexible to adapt when necessary.

As a study counselor, you support students in grades 1-9. Study counseling can take place before, during, or after the student's lesson time. You will collaborate closely with subject teachers and base your planning and execution of lessons on the teacher's basic plan, providing support in the student's strongest language to help the student achieve knowledge in various school subjects. You are flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have Turkish as your mother tongue or have very good and preferably documented language skills in this. Education in Swedish equivalent to Swedish as a Second Language at the upper secondary level is necessary. You need to have knowledge of the Swedish school system and the role of teachers in Sweden, as well as experience using digital tools and working in various digital systems, e.g., Google environment and Office. Swedish teacher certification or other pedagogical education in Sweden is meritorious, as is experience in mother tongue instruction or other pedagogical work with children or young people in Sweden. If you have documented knowledge of multiple languages, this is also meritorious, as are studies in the relevant language at the university level. A B-driver's license makes communication between schools easier.

We place great importance on your personal qualities: You are responsible and proactive, and have a good ability to work both independently and together with others in a team. Of course, you have the student in focus, and you have the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and other team members around the student. You see your part in the whole, and adapt easily when conditions change.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
Working hours: Daytime. The position is primarily conditional for Tuesdays at 20%. Another weekday, 10%.
