About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Stockholm South operational area is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, Region Stockholm, and includes Asptuna prison in Norsborg and the prison/remand prison Beateberg in Trångsund.

Asptuna prison is an open prison with 183 places in security class 3, located in Norsborg, approximately two miles south of Stockholm. Beateberg prison is located in Trångsund and is a closed prison in security class 2 with 80 places. Beateberg prison also has an open section, Grindstugan, in security class 3 with 8 places for women. The Beateberg remand prison is located in the same area as Beateberg prison. The remand prison has 88 places in communal housing.

Job Responsibilities

As a correctional officer within Other Structured Activities (OSA) at Beateberg prison, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and developing structured activities for clients in groups. The OSA operations are under construction, both nationally and locally, which means you are expected to be driving the work with the development and implementation of the OSA concept.

Your work involves regular documentation in various system supports, so experience with documentation and handling digital tools is important. Collaboration with colleagues and other functions within the prison is a central part of the role, and you will support other employment areas, such as service tasks in the form of cleaning, maintenance, waste management, laundry, on a weekly basis. If necessary, you should also be able to support other correctional work.

The position is located at the prison/remand prison Beateberg in Trångsund.

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in this role, you should be a stable person with the ability to create security for both clients and colleagues. Your ability to collaborate is crucial, as you will interact daily with different professional groups within the prison and build professional relationships. A service-oriented attitude helps you meet the needs of the operations, whether it is supporting colleagues in service tasks or adapting activities to the clients' conditions.

You have pedagogical insight and feel confident leading groups, which is central to working with OSA concepts. Your ability to combine this with a structured work method where documentation and administrative tasks are woven together with practical work is important for the success of the operations. We are looking for someone who is not afraid of change and motivational efforts and who is motivated by seeing clients develop.

Finally, it is fundamental that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's value base: a human view of people, respect for the individual, and a strong belief that people can change and grow.

We are looking for you who have:

• Work experience from the correctional service
• Complete upper secondary education or other relevant education in combination with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers equivalent
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech and writing
• Good computer skills
• Category B driver's license

Meritorious:

• Other language skills than Swedish and English
• Completed and approved basic correctional officer education
• Experience in pedagogical work leading groups
• Knowledge within health, nutrition, and dietetics
• Experience in motivational work
• Experience in service and maintenance within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
