The Swedish Security Service (Säkerhetspolisen) has a national responsibility for insider protection through registry checks of thousands of individuals placed in security classifications or participating in security-sensitive operations. The mandate to conduct special security checks according to the Security Protection Act, along with other processes within the registry check operations, is constantly evolving. As a specialist, you will plan, lead, and implement development work in this area, contributing your expertise to various parts of the security protection operational field.

You will actively work on identifying, analyzing, and implementing development work focused on the execution of special security checks and other processes related to registry check work. At the same time, you will support the operations in assessing the significance of tasks for security clearance and the Swedish Security Service's national responsibility within security protection.

Based on your competence, you will solve complex tasks that are only partially specified and defined, with significant elements of planning and innovation.

The role also involves representing the operations and, in collaboration, handling cases and issues regarding special security checks, registry checks, and personnel security, as well as handling rapidly emerging cases within the scope of the operational field.

In your work, you will collaborate both within the agency and with other partners.

Your placement is at the headquarters in Solna, and the work is performed on-site, meaning you do not have the option to work remotely. Travel within Sweden may occur.

Requirements:

• An academic degree, police education, or equivalent that the Swedish Security Service deems relevant for the position.
• At least two years of experience, within the last five-year period, in personnel security within the framework of security protection.
• Experience with security clearance procedures according to the Security Protection Act.
• Experience with project-based working methods.
• Experience in presenting complex issues.
• At least two years of experience working within the public sector.
• Very good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

The position requires Swedish citizenship.

You may also possess competence that adds breadth and complementary perspectives. If you can contribute with one or more of the following, it is meritorious:

• Experience in driving and leading change management and/or operational development.
• Experience in evaluating and analyzing operations.
• A law degree, education, or experience from legal work.
• Experience in translating strategic directions into work processes through new working methods.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish Security Service's operations.

The position of Security Protection Specialist requires you to have a high ability to take initiative, make prioritizations, and independently drive projects and issues to develop the assignment with a focus on finding solutions. You are pedagogical and collaborative. You build networks by creating and maintaining confidential and professional relationships based on trust and confidence. Furthermore, you are structured, adhere to set deadlines, and have good analytical skills. We also look for someone who is goal- and result-oriented, delivers on group assignments, and is flexible, able to shift pace between planned and event-driven operations.

The Swedish Security Service places high demands on security and confidentiality; therefore, we assume that you have a high level of security awareness.

Terms of Employment

Employment at the Swedish Security Service involves placement in a security classification that requires Swedish citizenship. The position also requires a passed result in the security clearance with registry check, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.

This is a permanent position starting with a six-month probationary period. We apply individual salary setting. Employment includes an obligation to be placed for war service.
