Villaskolan is a school covering grades F-6 (preschool class to grade 6) with two classes in almost every grade level. The school is nestled among pines in the picturesque town of Åhus, and it is easily accessible by both bus and car.

Your Role With Us

You will teach textile crafts (textile technology) to students in grades three to six. The position is advertised as a full-time position, but part-time work is possible. Teaching in textile crafts accounts for approximately 70% of the position, distributed over three school days (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays). During the remaining time, you will have planning duties or serve as a resource in the classroom.

The teaching is designed based on the goals of the curriculum, where planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation are important pillars. You have positive and high expectations of the students and adapt the teaching to the level of all students, with a focus on the best interests of the student.

Through dialogue, you build good relationships characterized by mutual respect and a trusting attitude. In your role, you stay up to date with events in the world and the daily lives of young people. Alternative teaching tools and documentation are a natural part of your work. In a systematic way, you reflect on practical work and, together with colleagues, drive development work in the working group/school. You also share responsibility for your own and the group's planning and further development.

If you are new as a teacher, you will be supported by a mentor for the best guidance in your work. If you are an unqualified teacher, you may conduct teaching but not be responsible for it. Responsibility for grading lies with a certified teacher.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are primarily looking for you with a teaching certification and eligibility to teach textile crafts in grades 4-6 in primary school. Secondarily, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge at the university level in the aforementioned subject. It is an advantage if you have pedagogical education at the university level.

If you have previously worked as a teacher in primary school, it is an advantage. We would appreciate it if you had a good ability to teach children/students in need of special support. The ability to support students in handling conflicts that arise is also an advantage.

You have the ability to adapt teaching based on each student's prerequisites, and your lessons are characterized by clear expectations, calmness, and a desire to learn. You have commitment, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in the world of schools and how it is affected by the outside world.

A success factor is that you can build trusting relationships both in and outside of school. Furthermore, you are a secure pedagogical leader with the ability to critically analyze your own and the working group's methods for continuous development.

Of course, you use digital technology in teaching and as a tool for information, planning, communication, and reporting. You organize and structure the work based on the specified goals.

As a person, you are communicative, receptive, and well-versed, and you adhere to the ethical principles for teachers, as well as having a talent for analyzing and documenting students' abilities and knowledge.

To enable us to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching certification. If there are no eligible certified teachers, you, as an unqualified teacher, may be employed on a fixed-term basis according to the Education Act. When we wish to offer you the position, it is required that you show an extract from the police criminal record to enable us to hire you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.
