Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for you who want to be part of us at the Tygelsjö Principal's Area and who want to work in the important role of Student Assistant!

We are looking for a secure and engaged student assistant who wants to make a difference in students' daily lives. You will primarily work closely with a student in preschool class who has diabetes, but the role may also involve supporting multiple students. The responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the student throughout the entire school day, both during lessons, breaks, and after-school care.
  • Being responsible for daily routines related to the student's diabetes (e.g., blood sugar checks, support during meals, and monitoring for symptoms) according to given instructions.
  • Collaborating with guardians, school staff, and school health services.
  • Contributing to the student feeling secure, included, and having the best possible conditions for learning and development.

Qualifications

You have completed upper secondary education. A degree from the Child and Youth Care program is considered an advantage. You have at least two years of work experience, including work with children and young people. Previous experience working in primary school with students who have special needs is advantageous. You have experience working with children in school, preschool class, or after-school care, as well as experience working with students/children with diabetes.

We would appreciate it if you have good knowledge of the school curriculum and other documents governing school operations. You have knowledge of how different disabilities affect a student's learning and how to best compensate for these. You have a low-affective approach and good collaboration skills. You have good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing. Previous experience working with children with medical needs and experience working with students with ADHD/Autism (NPF) is advantageous.

Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
