Fritidsbanken – Join us in promoting an active leisure time for Gothenburg residents!

Are you interested in service, movement, and helping others get started with an active leisure time? Do you also have a knack for handy work and enjoy fixing sports and outdoor equipment? Then this might be the perfect fit for you!

As of June 1st, the Fritidsbanken (Leisure Bank) operations are organized under the Sports and Associations Administration, within the Facilities Department and the Bath and Wellness Business Area. We are now looking for two dedicated Fritidsbanken employees who want to help develop the business. You will become part of a local work group while also being part of a larger unit where we currently run three Fritidsbanken locations in the city, with an additional one planned for central Gothenburg in 2027. This means you will collaborate with colleagues across the entire city and help develop a growing operation.

Fritidsbanken is like a library – but for sports and leisure gear. Here, people can borrow equipment for an active leisure time, such as balls, football boots, tents, riding helmets, and ice skates. Everything is free and accessible to everyone. In this way, more people can be active without needing to own their own equipment or pay high rental costs – which is good for both your wallet and the environment.

You will play an important role in creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for visitors, building relationships with local actors, and contributing to establishing Fritidsbanken as a natural meeting place for movement and activity.

About the Role

As a Leisure Assistant at Fritidsbanken, you will focus on our customers and help them find the right equipment. You will be a source of inspiration to try new activities and collaborate with associations, schools, and other actors. Additionally, you will help arrange exciting events and participate in various outreach activities that spark curiosity and a desire for physical activity. Together with our fantastic team, you will be responsible for creating an attractive environment in our shops that inspires lending, activity, and movement.

As an employee at Fritidsbanken, you will have a varied role where you work practically in the shop, in outreach activities, and contribute to developing the business.

The work involves, among other things:

• Receiving and guiding visitors in the shop, inspiring movement and new activities
• Receiving, assessing, repairing, and preparing equipment
• Registering and managing lending in the system
• Collaborating with associations and other actors
• Participating in and driving activities and projects that promote physical activity
• Outreach activities

You will contribute to developing the business forward, and the work will be based out of one of the Fritidsbanken locations, but you may also staff Fritidsbanken locations in other parts of the city. You will become part of a joint work group that operates across several units.

A Category B driver's license is required as the work involves transporting and moving sports and leisure equipment between our various Fritidsbanken locations, as well as some outward-facing activities in the form of activities at other venues.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High school education
• Experience or strong interest in sports, outdoor life, or association life
• Category B driver's license

Merits:

• Education in sports, health, leisure, or pedagogy
• Experience in retail or customer-facing work
• Experience collaborating with associations and building networks
• You are handy and enjoy repairing and fixing equipment
• Good computer skills (Office/Outlook)
