About Ågrenska

Ågrenska is a national competence centre for rare diagnoses and a unique meeting place located on the beautiful Lilla Amundön just south of Gothenburg. We operate from a holistic perspective for children, young people, and adults with disabilities, as well as for their families and professionals. We are now looking for two new employees for our family and short-stay activities. One permanent position and one one-year temporary position with the possibility of extension.

About the Family and Short-Stay Activities

Ågrenska arranges approximately 25 family stays per year for rare diagnoses, as well as five stays in collaboration with the Childhood Cancer Foundation. Families attending our stays have children with a rare diagnosis, with a different diagnosis each week. Families from all over Sweden participate to gain knowledge, exchange experiences, and meet others in similar situations. We have a program for parents, children with diagnoses, and their siblings.

The short-stay activity is a camp activity according to the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) aimed at children and young people with disabilities. It is primarily conducted during the summer, weekends, holidays, and school breaks.

Job Responsibilities

As a pedagogical staff member here, you will be part of our interdisciplinary team, which is a competent, engaged, experienced, and supportive work group. You are offered a beautiful and peaceful work environment directly adjacent to the sea.

The job responsibilities consist of two main parts.

Work in the family activity involves, together with the rest of the team, conducting activities in the form of diagnosis and sibling conversations, group-strengthening activities, as well as school tasks for children and young people with disabilities and their siblings. Delivering lectures for parents and staff during the family week is also part of the role.

As the group leader in the short-stay activity, you are responsible for planning and conducting the stays, which take place on weekends and holidays. The work involves responsibility for activity planning, medication management, contact with parents, staffing, and leadership during the weekend.

We are looking for someone who is

Educated as an activity pedagogue, assistant nurse, youth worker, or similar. Experience in the field of disabilities and care is desirable.

Working independently is a prerequisite for the job, but you must also be able to collaborate in a team with several different work groups. You are good at organizing and are open to change work. Experience with autism/ADHD is meritorious. If you have basic knowledge and feel confident leading activities such as boating, air rifle, archery, canoe/kayak, cycling, climbing, or hiking, it is a bonus. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

A B-driver's license for manual cars is required.

Working Hours/Duration

One permanent position and one 12-month temporary position with 100% employment.

Probation period of 6 months.

Start date in autumn 2026 or as agreed. We conduct ongoing selection and interviews, and the position may be filled before the application deadline (so do not wait too long to submit your application!).

Work every other weekend and on-call during weekends.

37-hour work week.

Salary

Fixed monthly salary.
