Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues, throughout the country. Working at SiS turns your professional life into an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work in our organization or what position you hold, you help create life-changing change.

SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-compulsory school-age girls and boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We operate in Lidköping and near Falköping.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Margretelund is now seeking two family therapists who want to make a life-changing difference for vulnerable young people. Our target group consists of young people aged 16-21 placed under the Young Persons Act (LVU) and, in some cases, the Care of Young Persons Act (LSU). Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our engagement, and our attitude. As a family therapist, you are responsible for working with the young people's families and networks with the goal of creating participation and collaboration that contributes to positive treatment outcomes.

The tasks are varied and include family therapeutic interventions, psychoeducational measures, parent training, mapping efforts, as well as participation in network meetings and follow-ups. The role also involves close contact with both young people and treatment staff on the wards. Work around each individual young person is conducted in team collaboration with psychologists, treatment secretaries, ward staff, nurses, and teachers. The family therapist is given the opportunity to largely design and plan their own workday through digital communication, visits, and home stays based on the young people's needs.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to being able to influence and change things. Therefore, we are looking for you who have the ability to build alliances with young people, families, and networks. You have a positive view of humanity, and your driving force is to work with people in vulnerable situations. You share SiS's values - to be a place for change, and your approach and attitude are permeated by our keywords Respect, Care, and Clarity. The role requires personal maturity that enables you to instill both hope and trust, while also having the ability to highlight the difficulties in the young people's families and networks to contribute to change. You have pedagogical skills and can act as a positive role model in parent training. You work well with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You must have:

  • A university degree as a social worker or another behavioral science orientation, or alternatively another education combined with relevant work experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Category B driver's license

It is also meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working with our target group.
  • Experience working within a government agency.
  • Experience in therapeutic work

At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
