Almåsskolan is a municipal primary school for grades 4-9, centrally located in Lindome. The school is close to commuter trains, nature, and the city center.
At Almåsskolan, we meet over 400 students every day, and we are about 50 employees.

The Student Health Service is organized as its own work team and works closely with the school's work team. We meet regularly in cross-professional work and contribute our various competencies to the work with students' learning, attendance, safety, and well-being.

At Almåsskolan, two school counselors work with different main student groups. The counselors work closely together and with other professions in the Student Health Service regarding issues and processes that concern the whole school. Part of the counselors' assignments are also located at Valåsskolan and Skånhällaskolan, where students go before they start at Almåsskolan. This gives us better opportunities to create continuity in transitions and follow the students' needs from preschool class to grade 9.

Almåsskolan is a school with great commitment, high competence, and a strong shared responsibility for the students. As a staff group, we work closely together, learn together, and take responsibility for ensuring that every student is met with clarity, warmth, and high expectations.
We are the best possible school every day.
We see and meet the students as ours collectively.
We learn and develop together.

RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an experienced school counselor for Almåsskolan in Lindome as one of our counselors is leaving for other challenges. Your main assignment will be grades 7-9 at Almåsskolan. A smaller part of the position is located at Skånhällaskolan F-6.

At Almåsskolan, two counselors work with different student groups but with close collaboration regarding students and issues that concern the whole school. The other counselor works primarily with grades 4-6 at Almåsskolan and also has assignments at Valåsskolan F-3. By having counselors present at the schools where students go before starting with us, we create better continuity from preschool class to grade 9.

As a counselor at Almåsskolan, you play an important role in the students' school everyday life. You meet students, guardians, and colleagues with warmth, respect, and professionalism and contribute to ensuring that students have a safe and functional school day. Your experience and your willingness to work with our target group are therefore of great importance.
You work from a holistic view of the student. The child's perspective, the relational and salutogenic approach, as well as a systems-theoretical perspective are important starting points. This means that you both meet the individual student and help the school understand how relationships, well-being, absenteeism, safety, and school environment affect the student's schooling.

You are part of the school's Student Health Service and work closely with teachers, mentors, work teams, and other professions. The assignment includes conversations and other support measures for individual students, work with student groups, contact with guardians, as well as support and consultation to staff.
The Student Health Service's work should be health-promoting and preventive. You therefore work both with individual students and with measures at the group and organizational level. Attendance is a prioritized area at Almåsskolan, and you contribute, among other things, to absenteeism investigations. You also follow up on bullying and are involved in the school's safety work.

You collaborate as needed with social services, healthcare, and other operations regarding the students. The assignment also includes documenting and following up on your work.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have a social work degree or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Previous experience in school counseling work is meritorious. Experience in other qualified social work with children and young people may also be relevant for the position. What is important to us is that you have a good understanding of students in our target group and the issues that may affect their school everyday life.

You easily create good and trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You enjoy being close to the students' everyday life and can meet them with warmth, respect, and clarity. At the same time, you are secure in your professional role and can maintain structure even in difficult conversations.
You have a holistic view of the student and understand that well-being, relationships, absenteeism, safety, learning environment, and teaching affect each other. You can see the individual student's needs and contribute to the understanding of what may need to be developed in a group or in the school's way of working.

Collaboration is a central part of the assignment. You contribute with your competence, listen to other professions' perspectives, and take responsibility for the common work. You can collaborate with students, guardians, colleagues, school management, and external actors in a clear and respectful manner.

The work requires that you can prioritize, review your planning when necessary, and make professional assessments of what needs to be handled directly, followed up, or escalated. You take responsibility for both your own and the common tasks with the students' best interest in focus.

We will place great emphasis on your professional judgment, your ability to collaborate, and your ability to contribute to a Student Health Service where students' learning, safety, absenteeism, and well-being are understood as parts of the same whole.

Employment type: Permanent.
Duration: Permanent, start: 2026-08-10 or by agreement. Selection and interviews take place in early August.
