Who will you work with?
I am a 12-year-old active, playful boy who lives with my mum, dad, and older brother in Kungälv.
I love speed and excitement, and I am looking for a creative assistant with a childlike spirit who wants to go on adventures with me. I love fast-paced games and am looking for someone who wants to help me drive remote-controlled cars, jump on a trampoline, ride roller coasters at Liseberg, play with trains, swim in the sea and at the swimming pool, and run in framerunners or participate in different races in a specialized running stroller. I also enjoy quiet and relaxing experiences, such as visiting Eldorado and its sensory rooms. I enjoy hanging out with my friends; we do, among other things, wheelchair dancing together. I would like you, as my assistant, to help me take the initiative for activities that I and my friends can do, as well as help me maintain contact with them.
I have cerebral palsy, a severe intellectual disability, bilateral cochlear implants, and epilepsy. I have a button on my stomach through which I am fed when I do not have the energy to eat by mouth. I do not have verbal language but am very expressive and communicate with my eyes and body language. Therefore, it is important that you are sensitive and read my needs and what I want. I am also practicing communicating via picture support in a PODD-book and an eye-tracking computer. I need help with everything in my daily life, such as dressing and undressing, food and medication, changing diapers, washing myself, and becoming independent in play.
