Who are we?

Alba-Camp has been operating youth services near Gothenburg since 1981. Our goal has always been to create a secure environment where we focus on and strengthen what works. All work is carried out in collaboration with the young people we meet, with the aim of increasing their sense of participation, context, and independence.

At Alba-Camp, young people are given the opportunity to take responsibility while always having adults available for help and support. Our core philosophy is to always find individual solutions based on the needs of each young person. The possibility of independent living combined with high adult presence is what makes Alba-Camp a unique residential care home (HVB). Our approach and attitude are characterized by respect, humility, clarity, and curiosity.

We have been in our current premises for just over 10 years, and the treatment work we conduct is completely unique in the context of residential care. It is unique in that young people do not share staff with other youth groups because we meet all young people one-on-one, and they live in their own fully equipped apartments. Based on these conditions, we also avoid emotional contagion between young people, which creates a secure and calm base for good treatment work. Because the young people do not share their spaces, we have a mix of different issues within the youth group, which requires a flexible approach and broad thinking in treatment. We work with young people who have neuropsychiatric disabilities, previous substance abuse issues, antisocial behavioral problems, and young people who have grown up with deficits in care. Our young people are between 16 and 23 years old.

All treatment work at Alba-Camp is permeated by the values and treatment philosophy that exist, with a theoretical basis in CBT. Staff are supervised by a licensed psychologist and CBT therapist in process supervision to constantly apply theoretical models in practical work with the young people.

As an approach, we use Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and milieu therapy.

In daily treatment work, Alba-Camp also offers manual-based treatment methods based on the individual, which are applied as needed. Currently, relapse prevention (RP), structured MI conversations based on CBT, ART, and REPULSE are offered.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced youth therapist who feels confident in working with young people and who feels confident in planning, implementing, and following up on treatment work. You should have the ability to see underlying structures in young people's behaviors early on and, based on that, provide treatment with proven methods. We see that you enjoy being part of a team where everyone gets to speak. We are a small workplace, and it is required of you that you are flexible and feel secure working in a small organization.

You have at least a two-year post-secondary education as a social pedagogue or another education that the employer deems equivalent. An academic degree is meritorious. You must also have undergone further education in the treatment methods you feel confident using. It is meritorious if you have training in the following treatment methods:

• CBT
• Milieu Therapy

About the job

The position is a permanent full-time position located on a fixed schedule rotation involving day shifts, evening shifts, and weekends.

We apply a 6-month probation period.

The work requires good documentation and analytical skills. You will be part of a team with 6 youth therapists. The work can be mentally and physically demanding at times, and it is required of you that you are secure as a person and have a stable private life with room for recovery.
