Are you a social worker or behavioral scientist interested in working with early interventions for students with school absenteeism in our Attendance Team? Here, you will be part of a school social team at a school in Mölnlycke, working alongside a colleague from the social services, while also supporting schools in your geographical area in their work on school attendance and absenteeism. You will collaborate closely and in a cross-professional manner within your school social team, as well as with principals, student health personnel, and teachers at the schools. With us, you will also become part of an ambitious and development-oriented unit, which also includes school psychologists and speech therapists. Most of the work takes place on-site at the schools with students and guardians, in direct collaboration with teachers, student health teams, and principals. The unit is centrally organized with shared premises in Mölnlycke to use as a base when needed. The unit is characterized by high competence, psychological safety, systematic work, and a development mindset, with the needs of students and operations in focus. One of the Attendance Team's employees is trying out their wings in another assignment, which is why there is a need for a one-year temporary position, with the possibility of extension.

Your Role

You are part of a central child and student health service and a local school social team at a school in Mölnlycke. You work with interventions at all prevention levels related to school attendance and absenteeism: from promoting and preventive to remedial. Together with key personnel at the schools and colleagues in the Attendance Team, you identify needs, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions. The work takes place at the individual, group, and organizational levels based on the needs of students and operations. Work at the individual level is documented in the journal system Prorenata.

Your main tasks include:

  • Cross-professional collaboration in a local school social team, where you contribute interventions for students with concerning school absenteeism based on your competence and the students' needs.
  • Analysis of absenteeism statistics and patterns in student school absenteeism, to support schools in implementing early interventions for concerning school absenteeism.
  • Investigative, supportive, problem-solving, and motivational conversations with students and guardians, based on identified needs related to students' school absenteeism.
  • Coordination of interventions for students with concerning school absenteeism and support in establishing good collaboration between school, home, social services, and healthcare.
  • Contributing knowledge about school absenteeism and school attendance through conversations, consultation, and competence development based on identified needs.
  • Close collaboration with principals and other key personnel in the schools' attendance work.

Requirements for the Position

We require that you, as an applicant, have:

  • A degree in Social Work or Behavioral Science (at least a Bachelor's degree) with content that the employer deems suitable for the assignment.
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working in a school social team and within school/student health.
  • Experience working within child and adolescent habilitation.
  • Experience working within social services, primary care, and child and adolescent psychiatry.

To obtain employment, an extract from the Police Register must be presented. An extract from the Suspects Register may also be required depending on the position.
