At Dalarna University, education, research, and collaboration are conducted within the interdisciplinary field of Work Science, focusing on work organization, the labor market, and the work environment. Teaching is primarily conducted within the Bachelor's program in Personnel and Working Life, as well as in standalone courses and commissioned training.
The subject is in a positive phase of development and needs to be strengthened with a University Lecturer. Your working day as a University Lecturer
The duties include program and course development, teaching and supervision at undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as research and active work in applying for external research funding. The position also includes participation in collaborative projects, as well as administrative tasks and possible trust-based assignments within the University. The research is conducted with support from internal and external funds and focuses on questions regarding a sustainable working life. Common themes include transitions in working life, inclusion, working conditions and environment, as well as inequality, gender equality, governance, and leadership.
Are you the person we are looking for?
We are looking for a PhD holder with experience in research and teaching within Work Science or a related field. You must have good communication skills in both Swedish and English, both oral and written. The work is largely carried out in teams and in collaboration with the surrounding society, which requires good teamwork skills, initiative, as well as a high degree of independence and responsibility in the role of University Lecturer.
Requirements for this position:
- Completed PhD in Work Science or a related subject
- Experience in teaching at different levels within Work Science or a related subject
- Experience in supervising theses or degree projects
- Demonstrated pedagogical skill through varied contributions to education such as planning, implementation of courses, and evaluation
- Ability to teach in Swedish and English
- Breadth and depth in research, with a clear connection to Work Science and a sustainable working life
- National and/or international publications in reputable scientific journals
- Experience in applying for research grants in national and/or international calls
Merits include:
- Experience as the principal applicant in national or international calls, and especially merit-worthy experience of having been awarded external research funding focused on working life
- Experience in collaborating and building networks with researchers and the surrounding society
- Experience in administering research projects, educational programs, and courses focused on working life
- Experience in academic leadership
- Documented higher education pedagogical education qualifying for teaching, corresponding to SUHF's recommendations.
It is important that applicants for employment who lack qualifying higher education pedagogical education are given the opportunity to acquire this competence as soon as possible.
Evaluation Criteria
The University will, in this recruitment, consider the person who, after a qualitative overall assessment of scientific and pedagogical skill as well as other qualifications relevant to the employment, is judged to have the best prerequisites for fulfilling the tasks of the position.
Equal care will be given to the assessment of pedagogical skill as to scientific skill according to HF Chapter 4. A pedagogical test will likely be applied. In the case of permanent employment as a University Lecturer, an expert assessment of the applicants' qualifications and skill will take place.

The Employment
The employment is a permanent position, 100 percent full-time, with start date according to agreement. Probationary employment may be applied. Dalarna University is a higher education institution operating in two locations. The place of employment for this position is Borlänge, and some work also takes place in Falun.
