Study and Career Counselor for Adult Education in Östra Göinge

At Göinge Education Center, we offer IM (Individualized Program), adapted adult education, theoretical adult education (basic and upper secondary level as well as Swedish for Immigrants), and vocational training for adults (Healthcare, Industry, and Outdoor Environment Maintenance). We have premises in Sibbhult, and we have a total of approximately 400 students in our operations.

The location for the position we are recruiting for is at the Adult Education center in Sibbhult.

DUTIES

One of our Study and Career Counselors at Komvux (Adult Education) in Östra Göinge is ending their position, and we are now looking for her successor to join our team!

Are you the one we are looking for?

We currently have a SYV (Study and Career Counselor) team consisting of 6 people, divided among our different school forms (from primary school to adult education), who collaborate closely. You will also be part of the school's SYV/Admin team, which includes the Deputy Principal, IT Pedagogue, Administrators, Youth Coach, and SYV. You will also be part of our overarching SYV/Business Cooperation and the SYV network in Northern Scania.

You will be responsible for guiding and informing students regarding further educational and career paths at the Adult Education center, as well as assisting with applications and admissions. You are responsible for ensuring that study plans are available and established in consultation with our students, as well as following up on students within our programs. Validation work involving the mapping of grades and vocational competencies may also be included in your duties. You are expected to organize and structure your work and be able to handle stressful periods.

As a study and career counselor, you are expected to work with group guidance and motivational initiatives with students, as well as to be a support for the rest of the staff's study and career-oriented efforts in their work.

You will be part of a work team that is constantly developing together to create a stable foundation for our students to stand on.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

• are trained as a study and career counselor, preferably with a few years of experience in the role within Adult Education and/or Upper Secondary School.
• are an engaged Study and Career Counselor with a view on school development that takes its starting point in modern school research.
• are prepared for a varied assignment and have the ability to see opportunities and embrace changes in tasks.

You are familiar with the Swedish education system and the Education Act. It is meritorious if you have worked with digital operational systems within Adult Education. You collaborate easily, are organized, and have a good ability to build good relationships with both students, colleagues, and other relevant parties.

It is of great importance that you can meet all students and, with a positive attitude, help them move forward in their study and career choices.

We will place great emphasis on your previous experience and personal suitability, which for us means that you are a flexible, structured, social, and service-minded person.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required for the position.
